Info for Congregations

Discover how your congregation can get involved with World Missions.

We equip BIC U.S. congregations to become effective supporters of cross-cultural ministries. From facilitating donations to offering education about global realities, together we raise up new generations of global workers.

How to get involved

Speaking Engagements

We want to share the ways lives are being transformed through missionary service around the world. Missionaries on home ministry and World Missions employees are available to speak to your congregation, youth group, retreat, conference, or small group. Topics include:

  • Work being done around the world
  • Understanding foreign cultures
  • Ways to get involved in missions work

Contact tcrawford@bicus.org to schedule a speaker.

Prayer Resources

Prayer is the foundation of all our ministry. Our prayer resources equip you to pray for Brethren in Christ ministry in the U.S. and around the world. Resources include a weekly virtual prayer gathering, email alerts, and prayer cards.

Videos

Share the work of our global team with your congregation! Video testimonials and updates from our missionaries are great additions to Sunday morning services, prayer gatherings, social media pages, small groups, and Bible studies.*

Short-Term Trips

Short-term, cross-cultural trips offer a unique opportunity to connect with believers across cultures, encounter God at work around the world, and grow deeper in personal faith. For many, they are crucial in discerning how God wants them to live out the Great Commission.

We partner with congregations to plan and lead trips that effectively support local ministry and have lasting impact on participants.

Plan

One- to two-week missions trips have the potential to be enormously beneficial for both participants and the communities they serve. However, despite best intentions, these trips can often fail to make a lasting impact — or even hinder existing ministry — if not carefully planned.

As a member of the Standards of Excellence in Short-Term Mission, we desire to maximize the lasting impact of short-term missions work. Following guidelines set forth by this group, we help congregations:

  • Assess the goals, needs, and context of missions trips
  • Connect with leaders from host communities
  • Work through logistics and details
  • Provide training opportunities for participants

To learn more, or to have BIC U.S. World Missions come alongside you in planning a trip, please contact Vicky Landis at vlandis@bicus.org

We’ve also put together a self-guided short-term missions manual as a resource for you to download.

Lead

Our short-term trips, facilitated by World Missions staff, bring together participants from multiple congregations to step out of their comfort zones, serve alongside global faith leaders, and expand their understanding of the worldwide Church. See a list of upcoming trips.

Flags & Traditional Clothing

Add color and creativity to your next Missions Sunday or event. We invite you to borrow flags and/or clothing from all over the world.

  • 40 large flags with poles and stands
  • 35 medium flags with poles and stands
  • Traditional clothing from India, Pakistan, Thailand, and more. Sizes are child to small adult.

For all these and more resources, contact Tess Crawford at tcrawford@bicus.org.

*Some of our global workers serve in sensitive environments. While we can’t share about their work online, we have additional resources available that tell their story. Please reach out to our World Missions team at missions@bicus.org to find out more about these resources.
