Leadership Structure
The Brethren in Christ U.S. organizational structure exists to equip, support, and connect our congregations.
General Assembly
National Leadership: Pastors and lay persons from BIC congregations across the U.S. come together every two years for General Assembly to make decisions that guide the denomination’s future.
General Conference Board
National Leadership: General Conference Board (GCB) is the board of directors for BIC U.S., acting as the governance and decision-making entity for the organization.
Leadership Council
Global, National, and Local Leadership: Similar to a pastor leading a congregation, Leadership Council provides day-to-day leadership and support for our pastors and missionaries.
Regional Conferences
Local Leadership: Overseen by bishops, our seven regional conferences act as the network through which congregations connect and support one another.
Commissions
Specialized Leadership: BIC U.S. Commissions advise and oversee specific areas of ministry. Under the authority of Leadership Council, two commissions currently supervise BIC U.S. World Missions and Ministry and Doctrine.
